Course Description:
Our 9-1-1 Telecommunicators are the first and arguably the most important connection we have with the community. They are given the all encompassing task of obtaining information from frantic victims, training to keep them calm while providing instructions, and relaying the information to the responding officer. Like with officers, the challenges facing our Telecommunicators are always changing.
This one day course will cover such issues as:
– Trauma-informed Telecommunications
– AI and forecasting the telecommunications future
– Accuracy of information
– Dispatch priming
– Auditors calling into your telecommunications center
– Case Law pertinent to telecommunicators and dispatchers
– Case study to provide effective and ineffective means of performing their duties.
Instructors for this course include current 9-1-1 telecommunicators and police commanders who have overseen telecommunication centers.
