This one-day, interactive course is specific to finding and securing grant dollars to fund law enforcement projects and needs. The class will review how to research and locate grant opportunities, the steps needed to complete a grant application package, how to develop budgets, and how to create relevant and realistic project goals and outcomes. All the critical elements and components for securing grant funding will be reviewed including developing strategic relationships, resources needed to implement new grant initiatives, and how to sustain grant-funded projects beyond equipment.

There will be six main course areas explored:

  • How to Identify a Need for Grant Funding
  • Researching and Analyzing Grant Funding Sources
  • Nuts and Bolts of a Grant Application (Abstract, Goals, Outcomes)
  • Completing and Submitting a Competitive Application
  • External Community Partnerships and Internal Resources
  • Successful Grant Management, Reporting, and Sustaining Grant Funding

Participants will leave with a comprehensive understanding of securing successful grants.
